By Kathleen Haase - Special to the Idaho Statesman; Edition Date: 10/02/08: I moved to Idaho two years ago for personal reasons. I never expected to be a leader in starting a new industry here - one I believe will drive Idaho toward more economic diversity and provide more opportunities for jobs. You may recall that I wrote a column before Memorial Day regarding my plans to conduct an experiment and eschew e-mail through Labor Day, 14 weeks "off the grid."

By Krissa Wrigley - Special to the Idaho Statesman; Edition Date: 09/04/08. Want to know a secret? Instead of being a fast follower, Idaho leads in the churn that makes economies vibrant. No matter the source - Inc., Brookings, Business Week - Idaho ranks in the top 10 for start-up business activity. More often than not, we are in the top five, and on a few occasions we are number one.
